I put a 3/4 inch ball on my camera and a socket on top of my monopod so when I see something I slip the ball into the socket and take the photo. Thus I can point my camera up, down, left, and right with ease. It could be that I’ve just not found the right way to carry/use my camera fixed on the monopod.
